Looking after your estate

Working with our partner, Morrison, we aim to provide a reliable, prompt and modern programme of estate management in and around Council homes.

To do this, Morrison's estate officers and our Housing Champions will;

  • Work with our Streetpride Service to remove needles, tidy up garage sites, remove graffiti, and clean out empty garages.
  • Act as the eyes and ears of the community.
  • Assist with community skips.
  • Report repairs for customers.
  • Give advice to tenants on the removal of bulky items, and when necessary organise removal of dumped rubbish from estates.
  • Work with Streetpride to clean paths and steps.
  • Work with various departments to report anti-social behaviour and abandoned vehicles.

Morrison's estate management team regularly consults with customers, area assemblies and safer neighbourhood teams to prioritise the tasks and Council housing areas they need to concentrate on. This has led to the development of the estate management schedule. The schedule means that estate officers and Housing Champions can carry out regular inspections in specific areas so any problems can be tackled on a regular and planned basis.

This schedule and the areas identified are based on consultation and, as such, it is flexible, so if there is an area you feel is in need of a visit from the estate management team please let us know.

Areas of responsibility - who should you call?

The Council, through its contractor Morrison, is responsible for looking after all Council housing land. Contact Streetpride for any highway or public space maintenance matters.
