Housing repairs: planned maintenance programmes

It has become more common for similar types of non-urgent works to be grouped together and done on a number of Council homes in the same area at the same time.

This allows us to plan and provide a more efficient service, as efforts can be targeted in a specific area. This lets us do more repairs in less time as our workmen are on-site instead of travelling, and saves on transport costs.

This approach only applies to non-urgent maintenance - things that don't cause a risk to your health or safety.

However, a non-urgent repair for someone else may be urgent for you, so the way we class repairs allows for your personal circumstances as well as what needs doing.

Once you have reported your repair, we will let you know whether it has been put into a planned programme and how long it is likely for the work to be done.
