Tenants in arrears with rent
If your tenant is receiving Housing Benefit payments directly to themselves and are eight weeks or more in arrears with their rent you can request that payments are made to yourselves by using the link below;
What can you tell me about my tenants claim?
If your tenant has signed the 'landlord disclosure' form, entitled ''About sharing information with your landlord'' which is part of the claim form, we will be able to tell you:
- whether your tenant has claimed housing benefit and whether a decision has been made
- if we need more information to decide the claim, what that information is
We will not be able to give you:
- any personal or household details
- your tenant's financial circumstances
If you employ an agent, we can only discuss the claim with your agent.
You can make an enquiry using our online form and we will endeavour to respond to your enquiry within one working day of receipt by either email or SMS in accordance with your request.
How can my tenant give permission to share information with me
Your tenant can give permission by downloading our landlord disclosure form. Upon completion by your tenant the form can be either posted back to Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council, Revenues and Benefits Services, Riverside House, Main Street , Rotherham , S60 1AE or can be scanned and emailed back to benefits@rotherham.gov.uk
