Carers
A Carer is someone who looks after a partner, relative, friend, an older person or someone who has a disability or long term illness.
Caring for someone is not always easy which is why the Council and its Partners have all come together at 'Carers Corner' to provide you with all the support you need under one roof.
What does Carers Corner provide?
At Carers Corner you can access face to face advice such as how to access benefits or legal advice, along with how to access the Carers Emergency Scheme and Carers Assessments.
The venue also provides meeting space which is used to hold a regular Carers Forum, where all Carers come together to support each other by sharing real life experiences to help you choose services which can best support your personal needs.
Advice and guidance is also available through the Ask My Community Website.
Where is the new Carers Corner?
Carers Corner is located directly facing the crossing which links the town with the library and other main Council buildings. There are a high number of disabled parking bays to allow access to the centre outside the library, Norfolk House and in front of the bus station. The centre also benefits from being near to the market and local town centre facilities such as shops and banks.
