Waverley Community Consultation
Consultation on Waverley Community Outline Application
An outline planning application was submitted by UK Coal (Harworth Estates) in August 2008 to build a new community on 230 hectares of the former Orgreave Open Cast Mine site, off the Parkway at Catcliffe and near to junction 33 of the M1.
The application proposes the construction of approximately 3,900 houses and a variety of community facilities, including two primary schools, small shops a food store, hotel, pubs, bars, restaurants and open space.
Since its submission in August 2008 the application has undergone scrutiny from Council Officers and external consultees to ensure that the proposals present a development that will create a sustainable, well connected and well built settlement which contributes to meeting the needs of the wider local area.
The plans and supporting documents are available to view by accessing the link below.
