Local Lettings Policy For New Build Council Homes
If you are thinking of applying for one of the new Council Homes, please look out for the property adverts via Key Choices. You will have to make a request and you need to meet all of the following:
- Be on Rotherham's Housing Register
- Be a current RMBC Council tenant for 2 years or more and have:
- A tidy garden
- No Neighbour or Anti Social Behaviour complaints about anyone living in your home in the last 12 months
- No damage to your property
- Not carried out any alterations in your home without the Council's permission
- Not been asked to sign an Acceptable Behaviour Contract
- Not owe any rent
- Don't owe any money to Rotherham Council or any Housing Association in
Rotherham - No criminal record in the last 12 months where the offence was:
- Related to Anti Social Behaviour
- Related to illegal drugs
- In the opinion of the Council, been a Good Member of the Community for the last 12 months if you have previously been in prison
Please note:
At least 10% of the New Council Homes will be let to applicants who are in paid work. This could either be the main or joint applicant.
