The Hearing Impairment Team work closely with children, parents, carers, schools and other agencies and professionals to meet the needs of hearing impaired children and their families.

The team is made up of qualified Teachers of the Deaf, specialist support staff, a deaf instructor and an educational audiologist.

We carry out home visits to support babies and pre-schoolers, and offer support and advice for deaf and hearing impaired children from primary school age right up to school leaving age (including special schools). Other settings - such as post-16 education - can buy our expertise on request.

Our qualified Teachers of the Deaf carry out formal and informal assessments of hearing loss and how it affects daily functioning, educational attainment and self-esteem. We also arrange events to bring deaf and hearing impaired children and their families closer together.
