Find the rating of a care home
All care homes must register with the the Care Quality Commission. This is the national regulatory body for health and social care services.
The CQC inspects each home and reports the findings on their website.
We carry out an annual assessment of care homes in Rotherham. We assess each home against the terms of the contract they have with the Council. We award ratings of satisfactory, good or excellent. A home could also be unrated if it fails to meet the contractual requirements.
Care homes in Rotherham also undergo a Home from Home review. Age UK and volunteer customer inspectors carry out the reviews. Volunteer inspectors are ordinary citizens trained by the Council to test our services.
The Home from Home review tells you what the residents, their family and friends think about the home. Each home gets a rating of bronze, silver or gold.
You can see the current ratings and reports for each home in our care home listings.
