Check if your home is overcrowded

You are overcrowded if your home is too small for your household. There are legal standards for the rooms and space that you need, based on the people in your home.

Overcrowding can be caused by having too many people in a room, or by having too many people for the size of the room.

For us to assess whether your home is overcrowded, you need to give us information about your living arrangements. You will also need to have an housing application registered with the Council.

If you are overcrowded, we can help you find more suitable housing.
