Borrowing items

You are able to borrow up to 12 books for 3 weeks. You may also borrow video tapes, DVDs, cassettes, CDs and language tapes. Loans of books and spoken word items are free but there is a small hire charge for our audio visual items.

Renewals

There are charges on items returned late which have been borrowed by adults. To avoid charges, you can renew items twice, provided no-one else is waiting to borrow them.

Renewals may be made by:

• Online via the library catalogue.
• Using the automated telephone renewal service on 01709 336774.
• Personal visit.
• Telephoning one of our libraries.

You will be asked for your library ticket number (found on the back of your library ticket) and if using one of our automated services, you will also require your PIN.

If you do not know your PIN you will need to contact the library service to obtain it.

Request service

Please ask a member of staff if you cannot find what you require in the library. A free request service is available.  For audio/visual items, e.g. DVDs and CDs etc, a small fee of 50p per item is payable.

You can also search the library catalogue and request items online. Simply find the item(s) you wish to reserve and click the Request button. You will be asked for your library ticket number (found on the back of your library ticket) and your PIN. If you do not know your PIN you will need to contact the library service to obtain it.

If we are unable to obtain a copy of the item from within our own library service we can undertake an inter-library loan to borrow the item from another library service. There is a charge of £6.20 for this service. (£5.20 for concessions)

Talis Message

Talis message is our new library automated telephone renewal service - 01709 336774 - where you can contact the library service at anytime to renew items and to check current loans, reservations and account details.

Tell us your mobile telephone number and we'll also text you any overdue or reservation notifications free of charge!
