Bookstart and Rhymetime
Bookstart Rhymetimes are activities designed to encourage parents and carers to share rhymes and songs with babies from birth onwards.
Join the Bookstart Bear Club and collect paw prints on your collector card every time you visit the library. For every six prints you earn a beautifully illustrated certificate and when you've collected all ten we'll award you with your very own Bookstart bear!
Events are regularly held in all libraries to encourage pre-schoolers to become active library users. Bookstart rhymetime sessions are held in all libraries to encourage sharing stories, rhymes and songs.

Bookstart aims to:
- provide books for parents and carers to share with their babies and children
- encourage book sharing to be a family event
- help parents and carers build the foundations for literacy
- promote the fun, pleasure and value of books
