Pay by phone

Council operated on and off-street parking bays may now be paid for with credit or debit cards, instead of coins. To use the system, motorists park up and use your mobile to dial 0114 299 1994. The number is on the notice on the meter.

The automated system will request:

• your location code (from the meter)
• your make of car
• your registration number
• how long you want to stay
• your debit or credit card number
• your card security number

There is a 20p convenience charge for using the system.

An added benefit of the system is that if your business prevents you from returning to your car within the paid-for time, you can ring 0114 299 1994 again to top-up your payment.
