Park Watch
What is a Park Watch scheme?
A Park Watch Scheme is similar to a Neighbourhood Watch Scheme. The scheme aims to protect Rotherham's parks from vandalism, improve safety and security. The Urban Parks team and the Safer Neighbourhood Team work in partnership to encourage positive use of the parks and support the local community and users of the parks to help with looking after their local green spaces.
Why do we need a Park Watch scheme?
A Park Watch Scheme can help to ensure that a park is safe for all sections of the community to use. Park users and local residents can report any park problems or issues including damage or anti social behaviour so that we can build up a profile of the issues in the area and remedy the situation as soon as possible.
The scheme aims to help reduce anti-social behaviour and misuse of the park, damage to park property, and most of all encourage residents and park users to take ownership of the parks, build community spirit and increase pride in our well used and managed facilities.
What to do
If you notice any damage or witness anti-social activity:
- Call Leisure and Green Spaces 01709 822453
- Complete an online Park Watch Report Form
- Email us the issues at urbanparks@rotherham.gov.uk
- Complete a Park Watch Form which is available in our park pavilions.
- Download a Park Watch Report Form
We will then report any anti-social behaviour issues to the police and arrange for any necessary repairs to park facilities.
