  2. Local Development Scheme

The Council's local plan (previously called the local development framework) will provide a long-term development strategy, setting out policies and proposals for new housing, shopping and employment, and how you travel in the area. The Local Plan will be used to make planning decisions and decide planning applications.

It consists of a number of documents which, once adopted, will be used for making planning decisions and deciding planning applications:

  • Core Strategy
  • Sites and Policies document
  • The Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham joint waste plan
