What we do

The Community Protection Unit deals with a vast range of Environmental Health issues and deals with the majority of enforcement for the Council. We deal with complaints relating to:

  • Pollution
  • Private Sector Housing
  • Licensing Enforcement
  • Air Quality and Contaminated Land
  • Permitted Processes
  • Enviro Crime issues such as fly tipping
  • Anti Social Behaviour
  • Rotherham Wardens
  • Dog Wardens
  • Pest Control

Our service works closely with other Council departments and partners including South Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service and the voluntary sector like Dogs Trust and RSPCA.
