The Council's approach to procurement is to achieve best value through effective procedures and robust option appraisal leading to a clear mix of service and goods provision. The Council can demonstrate its strength in building sound relationships through a variety of models such as Private Finance Initiatives (PFIs) and Joint Venture Companies (JVCs), whilst recognising the value that small, local businesses - including charitable organisations - can offer.
The Council's procurement has been recognised as best practice by achieving Beacon Status in 2006. We look to drive continuous improvement so that our procurement service will carry on providing best value and meeting the demands of its users' needs.
