Walking and Cycling

Take advantage of Rotherham's 250 miles of public footpaths, cycle ways and bridleways by enjoing the picturesque countryside. Or take in the local culture by trying a heritage trail which guides you past many historic buildings and places of interest.

Rother Valley Country Park

Award winning country park offering a wide range of watersport activities from beginners to advanced with instructors and equipment available. Mountain bikes are also available to hire. More info on the  Rother Valley Country Park page.

Thrybergh Country Park

The green flag awarded park remains a haven within the borough. The beautiful park, complete with reservoir, boasts a friendly visitors centre, cafe and 24 pitch caravan site. More info on the Thrybergh Country Park page.

Ulley Country Park

Clifton Park

Rotherham's premier urban park, five minutes from the town centre and occupying 56 acres surrounding Clifton Park Museum. The park is currently undergoing a £8.6m restoration programme to transform it back to its former glory. More info on the Clifton Park pages.

Winthrop Park

The park was designed with the elderly and disabled in mind. The nature therapy gardens  provide a relaxing escape to speed up recovery or simply de-stress with practical support for visitors.

Chesterfield Canal
