Registrars service standard

Our commitment to you

  • To register, in accordance with legislation, all births, still-births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships occurring in the Rotherham registration district
  • To ensure all notices of intention to marry or form a civil partnership are taken in accordance with legislation
  • To provide accurate certified copies of birth, death, marriage and civil partnership entries
  • To conduct celebratory services in a dignified and professional manner

Our Standards

  • Telephone calls - to answer 90% of calls within seven rings
  • Emails acknowledged within one working day, followed, where appropriate, by a full response within ten working days
  • Letters - to acknowledge within three working days, followed by a full written response within ten working days
  • Appointments - 90% of customers seen within five minutes of their agreed appointment time
  • Complaints - 90% of all Stage one complaints to receive a response by the tenth working day, if they cannot be resolved on the spot
