This consultation is now closed.

The Council's Archives and Local Studies Service, based at Clifton Park Museum is holding a public consultation on its opening hours.

The Service provides access to the rich history of Rotherham’s communities, organisations, individuals and families through its collections of local documents dating from the 12th to the 21st centuries. These collections help people to understand the history and heritage of the area and their place within it.

It has become necessary to review the way the service is delivered in order to make the best use of available resources whilst taking account of local need. Because of this, we are planning to change the Archives and Local Studies opening hours and we would welcome comments on the proposed options.

This consultation will take place between 6 October and 3 November 2014. The new opening hours aim to better reflect the time that people would like to use the service.

The search room will be open for 27 hours each week offering full access to the Archives and Local Studies collections during these hours.
