Higher Education
The Council no longer deals with applications for higher education student loans and grants. All higher education students should contact the national helpline number 0845 300 5090 to enquire about an existing application or make a new application. The helpline is available Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm, Saturday and Sunday 9am to 5.30pm (local rates apply)

Please do not post any documents relating to Higher Education student finance to any Council offices.
Further Education
Education Maintenance Allowance
The Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) scheme closed to new applicants on 1st January 2011. Under transitional arrangements for 2011/12, some young people may continue to receive EMA.
16-19 Bursary Scheme
Schools, colleges and training providers have funds to help you if you're studying or starting a full-time course from September 2011 and think you might struggle with the costs for your studies. For advice speak to student support services at your school or college.
