Disabled people - parking permits - blue badge

All about blue badges

We have produced a video, only 6 minutes long, which tells you all about the blue badge scheme - the purpose, eligibility, applying and using. It explains the difference it can make to people's lives and why we need to enforce the scheme.

See the video on You Tube.

The Blue Badge Scheme

The permits allow free or reduced cost parking to make it easier for people with severe walking difficulties to park closer to shops, restaurants and other places.

If you would like to check your eligibility for a permit and make an application, see the Disabled Persons Parking Permit - Applications page.

If you already have a permit and would like to check the guidance on using it, see the Disabled Persons Parking Permit - Using page.

Fraud

Permits are strictly for use only by the permit holder. They are not for use by family or friends for free parking. To report suspected fraud, see the Blue Car Badge Fraud Reporting page.
