Child Employment
Children between 13 years of age and the statutory school leaving age can be employed, but with restrictions that all existing and potential employers must be aware of and comply with.
Child Performers and Chaperones
Special restrictions apply to children working in the performing arts, including modelling, theatre, television and filming.
People known as chaperones can be licensed to act in the place of the child's parents to look after their interests whilst they are working / performing. The role of chaperone is strictly regulated and all existing and potential chaperones must be aware of and comply with the legal requirements.
