Independent Support and Warden Services

The Independent Support/Warden Services provide a high quality service to vulnerable people living in Sheltered Accommodation.

Independent Support Champions provide individual support and act as the key person between you and the range of services that you need to promote independence, develop your self confidence and maximise your enjoyment of life.  The service is accessed by assessment of need

We work with you and your relatives and carers, where appropriate, to devise a Support Plan.

Your Support Plan may include help with tasks around:

• Health - dentist, doctors appointments and making referrals for adaptations or day care
• Home - health and safety around the home, monitoring extreme temperatures
• Self - personal hygiene, adult protection issues, hair appointments
• Income - fuel poverty issues
• Advocacy - neighbour nuisance, fear of crime issues, assistance with correspondence
• Advice and Information - maintaining personal records and contacts
• Social and Civic Activity - enabling social activity and community involvement
