Facilities

  • The building is brand new (2010) with modern facilities.
  • The building is accessible to disabled people.
  • There are 2 meeting rooms separated by a screen. This screen can be removed on request to create 1 large room.
  • The rooms have carpeted floors and tables and chairs. The furniture can be removed on request. 
  • The capacity is 14 people per room or 30 people for the combined room. However, hirers are advised to view the room and assess capacities in relation to their proposed activity themselves.
  • No kitchen facilities are available. However staff on site are happy to help with refreshments etc. Refreshments can also be provided for a small charge. For any special arrangements, hirers should contact Facilities Management to discuss.
  • Ample off street parking is available.

Conditions of Hire

  1. The hire of the rooms shall in no way discriminate against anyone on the grounds of their race, ethnic or national origin, gender, marital status, sexual orientation, disability or age.
  2. When completing the booking form, the hirer shall supply all information requested including details of the activity taking place, whether refreshments are required, whether equipment is required and the likely numbers involved.  Additional use of rooms or equipment during the period of hire is at the discretion of the Council and may incur additional cost.
  3. The rooms can not be used for parties or other related functions. Acceptance for use of the rooms for anything other than meetings is by prior agreement with the council
  4. After a booking is accepted, hirers should pay the fees at least one week before the event.
  5. In the event of cancellation a refund will only be given if one weeks notice is given.
  6. The council reserves the right to cancel a booking by notice to the hirer from the Facilities Management Team.  A refund of fees will be given but no compensation shall be payable by the Authority to any person in consequence of cancellation.
  7. The council reserves the right to refuse a booking.
  8. The Hirer shall, during the period of hire, be responsible for supervision of the rooms, protection of the fabric and contents, safety of the occupants and behaviour of all persons using the building as part of the booking, including proper supervision of car parking and departure so as to avoid disturbance or inconvenience to neighbours or other users. The hirer or person in charge must be over the age of 18 and must be on the premises throughout the hire period.
  9. It is the responsibility of the Hirer to remove litter in the rooms and deposit in bins provided and to leave the rooms in a reasonable condition at the end of the hiring period. 
  10. The Hirer shall be responsible for observing all regulations relating to the building as laid down by the Fire Authority or otherwise.
  11. The Hirer shall be responsible for making arrangements to insure against any third party claims made against her/his organisation or group whilst using the building.  The Hirer is also responsible for insuring separately all equipment or apparatus brought on to the premises. 
  12. The Hirer shall not sub-let or use the premises for any unlawful purpose or in any unlawful way nor do anything or bring on to the premises anything which may endanger the premises, their users or any insurance policy relating to the building. 
  13. The hirer is responsible for ensuring that there are adequate procedures in place for first aid and that the fire evacuation procedures displayed in the rooms are adhered to. 
  14. There will always be a caretaker employed by the council on site during the booking periods. They are the main point of contact for the hirer if problems arise.
  15. It is the responsibility of the hirer to arrange the furniture in a way that best suits their needs and to replace as found at the end of the hiring period.  If furniture needs clearing from the room for a booking, the caretaker on site should be contacted for assistance.
  16. Where the Hire of the building is for a block period, this shall be for no more than six months for any one period of hire.  At the end of the hire period, the Hirer may be granted a further period of hire at the discretion of the Council and on terms to be agreed by the Council.
