Advice and Support
All schools subscribing to the Schools Library Service can take advantage of these services. They are offered at no extra cost and if requested, will be conducted at your school.
CyberSafe
An all new CyberSafe Guide has been developed by The Children and Young Peoples Library Service, in conjunction with the E-libraries service. The guide aims to improve children's awareness of the internet and promote safe usage. Once the new guide has been piloted it will be delivered into schools by the Schools Library Service.
Reading Agents
This is a new edition to our portfolio of services. Its aim is improving children's reading for pleasure and for them to become library advocates. A part of their challenge is to read a book, write a review and recommend it to a friend. A selection of schools has been enlisted and reading missions assigned. They will begin in November, culminating in an Awards ceremony in February.
Story Reading
The way a story is told can capture an audience's attention, stimulate their imagination and encourage them to read for their selves. We have two skilled story readers, one male and one female, who are available to come into your school and read a selection of stories to the children. Please contact us for availability and book a session.
Courses
We intend to offer a range of courses designed to help our customers make the most of their schools library. After the success of the 'Running a Successful Primary School Library Course', we will be running the course again. For more information and to book your place, please contact us.
