Externally Funded Projects

ViewFinder

Viewfinder

The Heritage Lottery Fund helped to fund the Viewfinder computers. Each of these has a database of about 18,000 digitised images.

The computers work through touch screens so that you can search for photos.

There are options to search for places, people or a wide selection of subjects including shops, manufacturers, schools, religious buildings bridges or cinemas and theatres.

Each of the computers has a printer with it so that you can print black and white versions of most of the photos.

You can find the Viewfinder computers in the  Archives and Local Studies Service, at Clifton Park Museum and the Community Libraries at Dinnington, Kiveton ParkMaltbySwintonThurcroft and Wath.
