History
Greasbrough Park covers over 2 hectares and is located opposite the old Town Hall. It is a small attractive park, well appreciated by the local community. Facilities include a bowling green, modern pavilion and a children's play area. There is also an area of open parkland available for informal and casual recreation.
As with many parks in Rotherham the land was originally used for pasture and also as an orchard. Due to the lack of open green space available for the community, the Earl Fitzwilliam gave the land to be used as a public park. It was officially opened on the 16th August 1930 by Councillor C. E. Geary, the vice-chairman of Greasbrough Urban District Council.
The main feature at that time was a raised bandstand near the centre of the park. There were also 4 tennis courts, a bowling green, putting green and an area for clock golf.
