Green Space Strategy

Rotherham's Green Space Strategy was adopted by the Council in September 2010.

This followed public consultation between June 2009 and March 2010. Responses came from a broad cross-section of stakeholders with significant interest in green spaces. Most of the responses broadly supported most of the proposed vision, aims and objectives of the strategy, with a number of suggested amendments.

The strategy is not just about the green spaces provided by the Council but all sites over half an acre (0.2 hectares) that the public can access.

The next stage will be to develop a more detailed local Green Space Action Plan in consultation with local stakeholders, details of which will be confirmed.
