Fishing
Rotherham doesn't offer deep-sea fishing! However for keen fishermen, courses on offer include angling at Rother Valley and Ulley Country Park, and fly fishing at Thrybergh Country Park. In addition fishing is also available at various pegs along the rivers Rother and Don and the South Yorkshire Navigation Canal, Chesterfield Canal and at a number of private fisheries and clubs.
Anglers must have a valid Environment Agency Rod Fishing Licence, available from most post offices. A number of private fisheries and clubs welcome visitors to their sites, but please be aware that additional licenses or passes may be needed and you will need to call them to check.
