Information For Developers

If you are a developer, you should contact the property addressing officer before you start work on site. Please supply:

• A written request to name and number the new streets on the development;
• A site layout plan and location plan;
• If possible written confirmation of the final layout for the purposes of numbering the plots. If this is not possible we will be happy to number the plots as you confirm them;
• An approximate date of when occupation is expected.

The above information will help us to provide an efficient service to you the developer and your customers.

When we get your request we will consult the parish and ward councillors regarding any suggested street names. The proposed names will then be forwarded to you for your approval or for you to make any alternative suggestions. When we have approved names, we will register the street name/s and prepare a schedule of addresses.

You will get a copy of the schedule and a numbered layout plan of the development, and information on how to order street nameplates. The information will also be sent to the Royal Mail, emergency services, Ordnance Survey and other statutory bodies.
