Bring Sites
The Council manages over 50 Bring Sites around Rotherham. These are located in supermarket car parks, pub car parks and other community focal points. Bring Sites have glass, paper, can and textile banks.
Locations
Map showing the location of bring sites
After entering your postal code the map will show all the Recycling Bring sites and Household Waste Recycling Centres close to you location. By clicking on the icons shown on the map it will show all the items that can be recycled at that location.
Glass banks
These are for glass bottles and jars in clear glass and in all colours. Keep the glass separated into different colours. Our recycling banks collect green, brown and clear glass. If you have a colour you are not sure about, place it in the green glass bank.
We do not collect window panes, drinking glasses or Pyrex type cookware because they are made from a different type of glass than bottles and jars.
Paper banks
Use these for newspapers and magazines, catalogues and brochures, blue telephone directories and Yellow pages. Remove all plastic covers first.
Can banks
Use these for steel and aluminium food and drink cans. Rinse your cans out if they are dirty. Squashing them will allow more cans to be deposited in the banks.
Aluminium food trays are acceptable, as are empty deodorant aerosols, but do not try to squash them.
We cannot collect other metal items like pots and pans.
Textile banks
These are for old clothes, fabric, curtains and shoes. Good clean quality items are reused. Poor materials are used as stuffing material or turned into industrial cleaning cloths. We cannot collect duvets.
Plastic banks
Use these for plastic bottles only. The main types include:
- PET - Soft drinks, water, mouthwash, shampoo
- PVC - Water, shampoo, vegetable oil
- HDPE - Detergent, bleach, milk, squash
- PP - Ketchup, syrup, medicine
Please note Where you can recycle plastic bottles
There are 3 Bring sites which can take plastic bottles. These are located at:
- Asda Supermarket at Dalton.
- Tecso Supermarket in Rotherham Town Centre.
- Morrison's Supermarket at Parkgate.
- Morrison's Supermarket at Bramley.
You can also recycle plastics at the 4 Household Waste Recycling Centres.
There are 5 Bring sites which can take Terapak Cartons (i.e cardboad juice cartons).
These are located at:
- Asda Supermarket Car Park Dalton.
- Wath Library Car Park on Biscay Way.
- Morrison's Supermarket Bramley Recycling Point
- Dinnington Tesco Supermarket Car Park.
- Tesco Supermarket in Rotherham Town Centre.
We politely request that when customers deposit their plastic bottles, they do not dispose of their plastic bags into the bank as well.
It would be far better if customers take their plastic bags away with them for re-use.
