Sustrans Connect2 Project
Killamarsh, Halfway Tram Terminus, Rother Valley Country Park and Chesterfield Canal Link
The Council has been working in partnership with Sheffield City Council and Derbyshire County Council to deliver exciting new access in the areas of Killamarsh, Hallway and the south of Rotherham borough around the Cuckoo Way/Chesterfield Canal.
In December 2007, after a huge amount of public support, our partners Sustrans won the £50 Million Big Lottery Giveaway.
What this means for local people in Rotherham is that we now have nearly £½ million to realise our ambitions to make the area the best for walking, cycling and riding. This area stretches from Rother Valley Country Park in the west, to Woodsetts in the east, south to Derbyshire and north to Todwick - an area around 20 square miles in size.
