Public Notices
The Council has a duty to publish public notices. Subjects include, but are not limited to:
- temporary or permanent road closures
- tree preservation orders
- public footpath issues
- planning proposals
- gating orders
Notices of substantial road works (NRSWA Section 58)
There have been changes to the coordination of roads and street works as a consequence of the Traffic Management Act 2004. One change has been the requirement to publish notices of the borough's substantial road works under NRSWA Section 58 on the Council's website. The notices give the extent and nature of the proposed works and the proposed start date.
The notices aim to stimulate coordination and avoid the potential for newly laid surfaces being dug up. Effectively, the notice is a restriction which prohibits certain works in such areas.
These notices are often issued well in advance of the works, and timings can change. For an up-to-date list of road works, see the Local Road Works page. The Traffic Delay Report is usually updated weekly.
