Building Structures

The Council provides the following structural services:

  • Inspections of structural defects in Council houses and buildings
  • Structural inspections as part of the "Right to Buy" process
  • Crack stitching, underpinning work and structural repairs to Council houses
  • Checking of calculations submitted as part of Building Regulations applications.

We aim to inspect structural defects and produce reports within 28 days. However this timescale depends on occupiers giving access and the availability of resources for trial holes, CCTV surveys and opening-up works.

We aim to produce "Right to Buy" structural reports within 14 days, providing the occupier gives us an early appointment.

We aim to check Building Regulations calculations within 5 working days.
