Area Assemblies

Area Assemblies are a partnership of individuals, agencies and organisations working together to tackle local issues and listen to local people.

The Area Assembly is like a mini strategic partnership made up of ward councillors, partners and community representatives.

Meetings are held regularly in each area and dates and times of these can be found on this website.

Area Assemblies put local people and key partners at the heart of the decision making process and to date huge successes have been achieved through aligning community priorities, tackling local isses and managing a partnership approach.

There are seven Area Assemblies across the borough that deal with local issues at a local level.

Community First

The Community First fund is a government funded initiative that will run for four years, until March 2015.  The programme will help communities come together to identify their strengths and local priorities in order to plan for their future and become more resilient.

Further details about how to apply for funding and contact details can be found on the Community First home page.
