Prompt payment code

Prompt Payment Code

The Council has signed up to the Government led initiative called The Prompt Payment Code.  Approved signatories undertake to:

  • Pay suppliers on time
  • Give clear guidance to suppliers
  • Encourage good practice

The Council has signed up to the initiative to help demonstrate that suppliers can have confidence that invoices will be paid within clearly defined terms.  The Council sees this as crucial in supporting local and small businesses - particularly during the credit crunch.
