Meet the Buyer events

Rotherham Council in partnership with Business Link and Rotherham Enterprise Board held a very successful Meet the Buyer and Enterprise Event at Magna on 10th March.  Over 500 delegates attended on the day which provided the opportunity for local businesses to discuss opportunities for selling to the public sector and to find out how to access business support and business to business opportunities.

Meet the Buyer stand holders included buyers from Rotherham Council, Rotherham Hospital, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, South Yorkshire Police and many others - representing more than £250m procurement spend in the region.

 

 

Both stand holders and delegates found the day extremely useful with buyers enjoying the chance to update their knowledge of the supply market, and businesses using the opportunity to find out about procurement processes and opportunities.

One delegate said, 'Hopefully contacting the right person in each organisation will bear fruit.  A really useful event - thank you!'

Presentations were given on a variety of subjects such as tendering procedures and contract opportunities.

The event included a small Supplier Awards Ceremony where excellent suppliers to the Council were recognised and presented with awards by the Mayor of Rotherham.
