Arts in Rotherham - Operatics and Musical Theatre

Rotherham people love to dance, act and sing, and they are very talented at all three! Many of Rotherham's entertaining groups also support young people taking part and sharing their skills.

Chapeltown Amateur Operatic Society (CAOS)

  • Details: CAOS was founded in 1924 and they are still going strong now with regular performances at Rotherham Civic.

Dinnington Operatic Society

Greasbrough Operatic Society

  • Details: Founded in 1929, the society have an enthusiastic group of singers, dancers and actors who perform a musical/light opera every May at The Civic Theatre, Rotherham.

Hotshots Junior Theatre

  • Details: Local Community Junior Theatre group, teaching Dance, Singing and Stagecraft.
  • Rehearsal venue: Gordon Bennett Memorial Hall, Thurcroft

 Maltby Minors Junior Musical Theatre Group

  • Details: A junior musical theatre group open to young people from 9 to 21, teaching  singing, a range of drama techniques and dance -  no audition needed to join. The group is attached to the Maltby Musical Theatre Group.
  • Venue the Wesley Centre, Blythe Road Maltby
  • Times: Mondays 6:00pm to 7:30pm, Sundays 10:00am to 12 noon at The Coleman.

Rotherham Teachers Student Academy (Youth group).

  • Details: RTSA promote top quality musical theatre in our area. Entry by Audition only.
  • Rehearsal times:Monday and Thursday 5:30pm to 7:30pm and Sunday 5.00pm to 8.00pm.

  • Details: Local Community theatre group performing songs from a variety of shows
