The artists, Johnny and Amanda of Whitewray, are cleaning and restoring the works to be re-installed for the summer.

Laughton Common

community arts design in progress for a Birds Eye View Sculpture

Artist Gillian Brent, working with local schoolchidlren and residents in Laughton Common, created the Bird's Eye View sculptures for locations around Laughton Common. The sculptures have now received planning permission and we hope to have these installed by the end of May 2011. The project is funded by Persimmon Homes.

Gillian is also working on designs for seating and railings to be part of a new landscaped area on Outgang Lane. At recent events and workshops in Monksbridge Community Centre, Laughton Common Junior and Infant School, Matrix and the Gordon Bennet Memorial Hall, Gillian collected ideas from local people about their preferences in public art and street furniture, to create designs which were then agreed with the Thurcoft Parish Council.
