Narrative:

Hilary Cartmel, who had already created some exciting work with children for Rotherham Interchange and Town Centre, worked with local schoolchildren at Brookfields Primary School and Swinton Community College as well as older people and residents to create designs for the public space outside Swinton Library. A consultation event was held at Swinton Civic Centre and the local library and a design selected.  Due to site restrictions the chosen work was relocated to the Peace Garden on Rookery Road , where it stands today. We are told it is decorated with tinsel for Christmas!
