Wentworth

Built in the 18th Century, Wentworth Woodhouse is 2 stately homes back to back. Although not open to the public the imposing 606ft long frontage can be easily seen from the public footpath. Alternatively the Mausoleum offers a panoramic vista towards the Woodhouse. A short distance away Hoober stand and Needle's Eye are well worth a visit. Wentworth

Chapel of Our Lady

Old Holy Trinity Church, Wentworth

This partly ruined building, stands in the shadow of the new church. It houses a series of memorials to the heads of the Wentworth family from 1548 to 1689 including Thomas Earl of Strafford. The church is now in the care of the Redundent Churches Fundwhich was set up to preserve churches no longer needed for regular worship.

St John the Baptist, Throapham

Ancient pasts co-exists with modern development in St John's and it's churchyard. The church is mostly early 13th Century but it's great treasure is a beautifully carved stone cofin lid of around 1300.

Walker Cannon

An original Walker Cannon, made 200 years ago, it is now on permanent display outside the Town Hall. Walker Cannon

Keppels Column

This 115ft coloumn can be viewed from Admirals Crest and was once a favourite Whitsuntide rendezvous location when it was possible to climb to the top.

Boston Castle, Park and Woodlands
