Blue Bags

Bluebag recycling

Due to new composting guidance we can no longer collect garden waste and cardboard together in the same bin.  Therefore, from Monday 19th March, 2012 we will collect your cardboard together with your paper in your Blue Bag.  Please continue to put out your Blue Bag at the correct location on your designated collection day by 7:00am. See your collection dates calendar delivered to your property before Christmas. Find out more.

Large pieces of corrugated card that will not fit in your Blue Bag may be flattened, folded to size (approximately 60cm x 30cm) and secured under your Blue Box for collection.

What can be placed in the bag?

  • Newspapers
  • Cardboard
  • Magazines
  • Leaflets
  • Telephone directories
  • Catalogues
  • White paper
  • Junk mail
  • Shredded paper (please place inside a plastic bag inside the blue bag)

Things we don't want in your Blue Bag:

  • Food and drink cartons, e.g. Tetra Paks
  • Paper cups and plates
  • Plastic coated paper
  • Wrapping paper
  • Sweet wrappers
  • Photographs
