Local development framework

Consultation feedback report now available

Our latest stage of consultation on the Local Development Framework (Draft Core Strategy and Sites & Policies / Issues & Options documents) closed on 16 Sept 2011. All comments received from members of the public and stakeholders on the consultation have been entered and are now available to view through our LDF Consultation Portal  on the Council's website. The Council's response to individual comments will be made available in due course.

A Feedback Report setting out the methods of consultation used and the most significant issues raised by consultees, together with the Council's response to these significant concerns, has now been published and is available to view here: Feedback Report. A hard copy of the report will also be made available in all public libraries and customer service centres in the borough.

We intend to carry out further public consultation on the next stages of the LDF later in 2012.

About Local Development Framework

The Local Development Framework will provide a long-term development strategy for Rotherham, setting out policies and proposals for new housing, shopping and employment, and how you travel around and about the borough.

The Local Development Framework will eventually replace the existing Unitary Development Plan and will help to streamline the local planning process and promote a proactive & positive approach to managing development. It will help the Council decide on planning applications and promote Rotherham's continued regeneration whilst protecting and enhancing the natural environment.
