Rotherham Town Centre Draft Public Realm Strategy

In mid 2008 the Council published for consultation a draft Public Realm Strategy for Rotherham Town Centre.  Following this the Strategy was subject to Sustainability Appraisal with the intention of adopting it as a Supplementary Planning Document (SPD).  The SPD would stem from saved UDP policy (ENV3.1) and appropriate policies in the Regional Strategy.

In light of the Government's proposed changes to the planning system, including the abolition of the Regional Strategy, and progress with preparing Rotherham's Local Development Framework further consideration is being given to how the Public Realm Strategy may be taken forward.
