Town Centre Surveys
Rotherham's Unitary Development Plan identifies 11 town centres within Rotherham:
- Bramley
- Dinnington
- Maltby
- Rawmarsh-Parkgate
- Rotherham town centre
- Swallownest
- Swinton
- Thurcroft
- Wales-Kiveton Park
- Wath-upon-Dearne
- Wickersley
Each year Forward Planning carry out surveys which gather together a range of information about properties within these centres, such as occupiers, floorspace and upper floor uses. With survey data going back to 2001 you can find out how town centres and individual properties have changed over time, or how they look at present.
The latest town centre survey data is available to view here as an Excel spreadsheet.
The spreadsheet contains a detailed breakdown of information for each property and a summary sheet for each centre. Maps showing the boundaries of each of the town centres can be found here.
Survey Notes:
- The surveys are carried out every year around October and present a snapshot in time
- Surveys in 2010 were carried out in July in order to inform an update to the borough wide retail and leisure study
- All floorspaces (provided in square metres) are approximate
- Where properties have changed status from the previous year, in most cases these are highlighted in yellow
- For Rotherham town centre, properties highlighted in yellow fall within the Prime Shopping streets
- Uses are identified by which 'Use Class' they fall within
