Local Development Framework - Getting Involved

Statement of Community Involvement

The Statement of Community Involvement sets out the council's policy for community participation, including the engagement of traditionally excluded groups, together with the standards of community involvement to be achieved in the preparation, alteration and review of the various documents in the  Local Development Framework and in consultations over planning applications. It is intended to ensure the active, meaningful and continued involvement of you, local communities and stakeholders throughout both processes.

Local Development Framework - Consultation Portal

In order to encourage wide public involvement in drafting the Local Development Framework (LDF), and to make registering your views as convenient as possible, we have introduced a new online consultation system. This web-based system has three major benefits:

  • You can read and comment on our draft LDF documents online through a simple web page.
  • We can spend more time analysing your comments and less time managing paperwork.
  • The environment benefits from the paper saved by using an online system.

In addition, you can:

  • Update your details instantly, such as change of address or email
  • Let us know how you wish to be contacted
  • Get email updates when new documents are published
  • Search and view the comments made by other consultees

To register on the system please click on the link below, click the "Register" link on the menu bar and enter your details. You will receive a confirmation email with details of how to manage your account.
