Welcome to the Rotherham Sports Awards

The Rotherham Sports Awards is an annual event to celebrate outstanding sporting success and those who have made a tremendous contribution to sport in the sub region. 

Sport is such an important contributor to the area and the 2010 Sports Awards will provided recognition of the achievements of the people involved.

The Rotherham Sports Awards 2010!

Thursday November 4, saw the 2010 Rotherham Sports Awards take place at Hellaby Hall Hotel with some of Rotherham 's most successful and talented athletes, coaches and volunteers rewarded for their efforts over the past year.

The awards were hosted by Rother FM's breakfast DJ Rod Archer with special guests the Mayor of Rotherham, Cllr Rose McNeeley, World Champion Bobsledder Nicola Minichiello, Kevin Hayes (Paralympic Wheelchair Basketball Player and world cup and international referee, Rotherham 's very own Howard Webb.

Owen Swift, sports development officer and organiser of this year's awards, said;

"The Rotherham Sports Awards is a fantastic event that allows the town's best talent to be celebrated. With 17 awards on offer this year we will be recognising our sporting heroes in even more ways, and would like to encourage any last minute nominations before it is too late!"
