The free-to-attend Rotherham Council event runs from 4-7pm on Wednesday 24 April at New York Stadium and will feature a variety of employers offering apprenticeship vacancies, information and advice.

Visitors can discover local opportunities by meeting employers and specialist advisors first-hand, to find out more about apprenticeships in a range of industry sectors.

The afternoon will include information workshops where attendees can learn about the range of apprenticeship levels, how to apply for roles and hear success stories from employers and their apprentices.

Specialists will also be on hand to offer information and advice on a variety of topics such as money matters and the different pathways available into apprenticeships.

Exhibitors include major Rotherham employers from a wide range of sectors, such as engineering, manufacturing, construction, legal, finance, accounting, education, early years, health and social care, hair and beauty, digital protective services, military, catering and hospitality.

The event is aimed at young people who are planning the next steps in their career with parents, carers, and educators also encouraged to attend to find out about local apprenticeships as a post 16 option and a paid alternative to university.

Rotherham Council’s Strategic Director of Regeneration and Environment, Paul Woodcock said: “We have a long history of investing in apprenticeships, training local people who go on to improve our local businesses and our town using the knowledge and experience they have gained.

“Rotherham is on the up, with new developments taking shape not only in the town centre, but across the borough. There are some exciting opportunities available with forward-thinking companies, which will only increase as we continue to attract more quality employers each year.”

“The opportunities are endless with apprenticeships – they are a perfect way to gain real-life industry experience whilst in paid employment. I would recommend anyone considering an apprenticeship to attend and find out more.”

The Rotherham Council event is being held in partnership with South Yorkshire Careers Hub, South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority and South Yorkshire Apprenticeship Hub.
