A free festive community information and advice event will take place at Dinnington Resource Centre, Laughton Road on Monday 5 December.

The event will kick off at 2pm with the arrival of Santa's reindeers, which children and grown-ups can say hello to outside the Resource Centre.

From 2.30pm to 4.30pm there will be seasonal refreshments and the opportunity to seek advice and information from a range of local service providers, including South Yorkshire Fire Service, Rotherham Council's Adult Care and Housing teams, The Learning Community and much more. Also, people can take the opportunity to get involved with a couple of festive taster sessions by having a go at decorating cupcakes and making woolly hat tree decorations.

The event has been organised by Councillor Jeanette Mallinder, Rother Valley South Area Assembly and Dinnington Childrens Centre. The Adult Community Learning Team has also input and will be promoting the Dinnington Community Learning Forum.

Councillor Mallinder, elected member for Dinnington, said: "It's an opportunity for local people to come together in a relaxed, friendly environment and find out about the wide range of local services available to them in Dinnington and how they can access them. Also, there will be free back packs for the Primary School children – a big thank you to Costco."
