Secure your place at the 2017 tenants’ conferencePublished Tuesday, 14th March 2017
The Council is urging tenants to be early birds and get the date for the annual Tenants Housing Conference into their diaries.
This year, the popular conference will be held at New York Stadium in Rotherham on Wednesday, 5, July, from 10am to 3pm and will be the perfect opportunity to get information on a vast range of topics and to comment on future plans for the Council's Housing and Neighbourhood service.
The event, run in conjunction with RotherFed, will also feature their awards ceremony for housing staff and community groups who have gone the extra mile.
Rotherham Council's Cabinet Member for Housing, Councillor Dominic Beck said:"Don't miss out on this great opportunity. The conference gives tenants the chance to have their say on housing services and to get a vital insight on how we plan for the future. Staff will also be on hand to provide practical tips and advice on tenancy related issues and to explain more about opportunities to get involved in shaping services.
"The event is always well received and provides an opportunity to celebrate our achievements and access information on how we are performing as a service. It is also a real celebration of the excellent work community groups are doing as we continue to work together to change lives and communities."
The conference includes stalls, workshops, the Mayor's Charity Raffle, the RotherFed awards ceremony plus a free buffet lunch is available. Booking is essential.
RotherFed will present 12 Community Group Quality Awards and cash prizes to tenants and residents associations and community led organisations in governance, communication, involving people, policies, finance and making a difference. There will also be six RotherFed housing staff awards presented to staff members from Rotherham Council, Fortem or Mears who have done that little bit extra to help council tenants in 2016/2017.
